Exfoliate Your Way to Beautiful Skin

Easy steps to getting radiant skin

Exfoliating our skin is something we’ve all heard we should do but seldom of us actually take the time to do it. The truth is, it’s an important practice because it rids our skin of dead skin cells which ultimately leads to more, soft, radiant and healthier looking skin. Here are a few easy tips to exfoliating

Exfoliating your face

Wet a washcloth with hot, but not scalding water. Place on your face for a minute or two. This will open up your pores.

Use your favorite facial wash. We recommend either OLEDA Vitamin E Wash or OLEDA Aloe Foamy Cleanser

Follow with an exfoliating scrub. Again, you can opt for OLEDA Cell-Abration Formula IV which is a gentle yet highly effective option. Or, you can even make your own homemade scrub. Here’s a simple recipe that will do the job.

Simple Honey Sugar Facial Scrub

Ingredients

  • 2 ½ tablespoons coarse sea salt
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon avocado or olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Mix all ingredients and store in a clean container. This mixture can be kept in refrigerator for a few weeks.

Once you’ve cleansed your face, apply a generous amount to your wet face. Rub in a circular motion for about a minute.

Rinse your face thoroughly with warm water. Pat your skin dry then apply your moisturizer of choice.

Exfoliating your body

Exfoliating your body is as important as exfoliating your face and is key to keeping your entire body soft, supple and healthy looking. Body scrubs can also be of the homemade variety. Try the following recipe.

Sweet Essence Honey Lemon Sugar Scrub

Ingredients

  • 1 cup cane sugar
  • 2 tsp dried rosemary
  • 1/4 cup olive or avocado oil
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 18 drops lavender essential oil

Mix all ingredients and store in a clean container. This mixture can be kept in refrigerator for a few weeks.

No time to go the homemade route? Try one of OLEDA’s Body Scrubs in invigorating scents.

Just before you take a shower, brush your skin with a loofah or an exfoliating glove. Brush your entire body, including your feet.

Once in the shower, wet your body and apply your body scrub to your entire body in small circular movements with your loofah or exfoliating glove.

Rinse your body thoroughly with warm water then just before exiting the shower, change water temperature to cold. This will close up your pores.

Pat your skin dry and apply your favorite body moisturizer.
